Identity verification for state agencies, answered by the NIA.

The Person of Interest (POI) System is the National Identification Authority's secure request-and-reply portal. Authorised officers of Ghanaian state agencies submit identity enquiries about a person of interest, and NIA Database Officers respond with an official, printable document drawn from the national identity register.

Restricted to authorised government agencies · All activity is logged
Answered by the NIA Every response is prepared and issued by an NIA Database Officer — not an automated lookup.
Official printable documents Responses are issued as referenced NIA documents your agency can print and file for official use.
Fully audited Every request, payment, and response is time-stamped and recorded in a permanent audit trail.
Services

Three ways to identify a person of interest

Each request is a search of the national identity register. Choose the service that matches the information your agency already holds about the subject.

Name & Date of Birth

You know who the person is but need their official records. Provide the subject's full name and date of birth, and the NIA searches the register for the matching identity.

You provide: Full name + DOB

Ghana Card PIN

You hold the subject's Ghana Card number and need the full record behind it. Provide the PIN (format GHA-000000000-0) for a direct search of the national ID.

You provide: Ghana Card PIN

Name & Phone Number

You have a name and a phone number and need them cross-referenced. The NIA checks the pairing against registered identity records and reports what is on file.

You provide: Full name + phone
